I'm In!

I’m participating in the Pay-it-Forward initiative. The first 5 people who comment on this status with “I’m in” will receive a surprise from me at some point in this calendar year – anything from a sweet dessert, a lovely CD, a ticket, a book or just absolutely any surprise I see fit! There will be no warning and it will happen when I find something that I believe would suit you and make you happy! These 5 people must make the same offer in their status (FB or Path or Twitter, etc.) and distribute their own joy. Simply copy this text onto your profile, (don’t share) so we can form a web of connection and kindness.
Let’s do more nice and loving things for each other in 2014, without any reason other than to make each other smile and show that we think of each other. Here’s to a more enjoyable, more friendly and love-filled year!

Setiap kita punya masalah masing-masing.
Nah, nanti yang sudah menyatakan ikut/"I'm in!" DIHARAPKAN melakukan hal serupa seperti gw.
Have a nice day semuanyaaa :).

From Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2014: Revealing Innocence

Assalaamualaikum,
Hi, guys! You may remember from my last post that about two weeks ago I was very ill. Well, thank God I was recovered  just when Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2014 was started ;)

Just like IFW 2013, Friday on fashion week means muslim brands and muslim designers on runway. I got two invitations for the 7.30 pm show. I drove from our house in Depok and picked up Hubby from his office at Sudirman area at 4 pm. There were some traffic jams but we managed to get to the venue by 5 pm.

We were just arrived when I saw this cute spot :).
Since we still have a few hours until the fashion show, I decided to come to Laiqa magazine and Hijup booth. My article was published on the newest edition of Laiqa and so it's just nice to drop by and with the hope that I could meet Mrs. Hanna Faridl or Mrs. Fifi Alvianto and say hi.

They're not around when I got into the booth. Instead, I met the multi-talented designer Dian Pelangi with her bestfriend, Lulu Elhasbu of Zaura Models! Yeay! Big Yeay!

Dian Pelangi, me, Lulu Elhasbu.
Dian and Lulu were so humble and friendly. Dian asked about my daughter and said that she's so cute, and I just nodded. I can't believe how my head was blanked and it seemed like someone's just turned it off! I wanted to say, "Good luck on the fashion show tonight." But as I told you, my head was blanked. Hahaha... Ah well, it's okay to act awkward sometimes, right? :P

My 'sumringah' face.
And Notice that Dian and Lulu made their pose lower to make their height nearer with mine xD.

When Dian and Lulu went off from the Laiqa and Hijup booth, I got the last edition of Laiqa from Evi. Evi is one of the Laiqa team, finance division. I took some pictures with her too:)

Me and mba Evi #likeLaiqa :).

Now, it's time to see the fashion show! The fashion show I watched that night was entitled "Revealing Innocence" and brought by four famous muslim designers: Iva Lativa, Monika Jufry, Itang Yunasz, and Dian Pelangi.

"AKULTURASI" BY IVA LATIVA

Iva Lativa presented an acculturation of Korean traditional women clothes called Hanbok and Indonesia's traditional fabric like Batik, in the form of muslim clothing. The tops of the Hanbok were kinda like crop jacket and they were mixed with wide skirts. Many of the pieces were using bright colors like bright yellow, red, orange, and green.

Do you recognize the model at the front?
I think it's Bona of Asia's Next Top Model Season 2, isn't it?
The designer, Iva Lativa.
I'm in love with the piece that was worn by the model beside Iva ;).

"GRACEFUL ELEGANCE" BY MONIKA JUFRY

Just like the name of the collection, the pieces that were presented were elegant. Many comes with graceful flare dress made from chiffon. Some were in pastel colors like cream and soft green. Some other were in bold colors like red, blue and dark purple.

"OCCIDENT ORIENT" BY ITANG YUNASZ

That night Itang Yunasz presented some particular hexagonal prints that were used in every piece of the collections. Some were mixed with color-blocking so the prints looked stands out.

"ROYAL KINGDOM OF INDONESIA" BY DIAN PELANGI

This newest collection by Dian Pelangi was featuring three different cultures of Indonesia: Tenun Bali, Batik Jawa, and Songket Palembang. All of the pieces shows luxury in a traditional-modern way. It shows on many colors of gold combined with red, turquoise, and silver. This collection also included the fabulous red veil that also was featured on her blog lately.

Luxurious Gold and Red.

Batik and Gold.

The designer, Dian Pelangi.

It was such a great fashion show, but I was not very lucky because I didn't get a photographer spot and the fashion show was so full with audience that I couldn't get better view to take photographs. But it's okay, I had fun at the venue. I hope I can get a better spot next time :).

So here are some photos again from IFW 2014,

At the HELLO! magazine spot. Hey, I love and read HELLO!

It was pretty late in the evening when we went home. We had fun and hope we can come again to the next fashion week.

Good night, fellas ;).

My Article on Laiqa

On December, I wrote an article for Laiqa magazine. I love this magz because it's not just a magazine for muslimah. They have articles about styles, Islam, and many things. The other things I love about Laiqa is the beautiful photos, the wide shape, the lay-out and the not-so-mature but beautiful designs.

As you may already know, I am a Communication Bachelor. I was studying journalism and there were times in my life when I wrote for national news papers and magazine. On the end of 2008 I decided to be a banker and took Management Trainee program in one of the  national private banks. I spent almost 4 years at banking industry and so there were some years I spent without writing.

When I started this blog on September 2012, I already chose my path to be a stay at home mom. I never thought I would love writing again (and this much). So when my article was published, I'm so happy. Because I'm an independent blogger, not a journalist.

The 7th edition of Laiqa is featuring Hanum Rais on the cover and the new edition's big theme is nationalism. Along with this theme, Mrs. Hanna Faridl, the Editor At Large, asked me to write an article entitled: "Berburu Jajanan Jadul". I'm so happy to take a part in the newest edition. Thank you Laiqa, thank you Mrs. @hannafaridl ;).

Mrs. Hanum Rais on the cover.

My profile along with the other contributors profiles :).

Hey, that's me! ;)

My two-spreads article. 9 out of 10 of the photos were from my own collection.

My by line.

This new edition is available on stores now. Go grab your copy, ladies :).

My Pink Chocolate

Seperti yang pernah gw ceritakan sebelumnya, sekitar 2 minggu lalu gw sakit. Sakitnya lama sampe semingguan. Jadi bener ya ternyata, happy wife means happy family. Karena ketika istri/ibu sakit, keluarga pun jadi ga stabil. Rumah berantakan, makan pake katering, kulkas kosong, dan cucian menumpuk.

Pengalaman sakit kemarin juga benar-benar ga enak. 2-3 hari nggak enak tidur. Lelah tapi ngga bisa istirahat, maklum yah gapake ART. Salah satu konsekuensi memilih gapunya ART ya begini, kalo pas sakit ga bisa benar-benar istirahat. Hehehe...

Lagipula gw lagi sakit parah-parahnya.

Sore-sore sekitar jam setengah 6 biasanya Hubby udah sampe rumah.

Istrinya ga jadi ngomel deh :p. Ternyata kalo istri sakit, Hubby juga jadi kepikiran yah. Apalagi sakitnya lama. "Sabar ya. Cepet sembuh. Love you," kata Hubby.

Tengkyuuu hubscim. I love you too :*.

Tapi walopun sakit tetep yah sempet-sempetnya difoto dulu pake kamera. Si Bebe udah ngiler aja liat coklat warna pink begitu dan beberapa kali berusaha menggapai salah satu coklatnya xD. Akhirnya tetep aja coklatnya dimakan bareng-bareng. Yah, ga seru kan kalo dimakan sendiri. Dark chocolate-nya enak banget ngomong-ngomong ;)

Quote for The Day

You do not need to know precisely what is happening,
or exactly where it is all going.
What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment,
and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope.

Comfy

Comfy top, comfy pants, comfy shoes.

When it comes to clothing, I always believe in the comfy feeling when I try them on. I believe in the comfy feeling because I believe that is the feeling that will make me want to wear that piece for the second times, third times, and maybe it will last for a year or two. Who knows?

I mean, how many times we bought some fashion pieces and end up not wearing them or wear them only once or twice?

Two Days in a Row with Yogie

Assalaamualaikum,
Hi Guys! How are you doing? I'm very ill these past few days.

"Iya," kata gw.
"Fir'aun tu ga pernah sakit. Kalo kita mah sakit, masih diaku umat." Lanjutnya.
"Mhahaha... tau dari mana?"
Gw tepok jidat. Tau dari mana coba Bokap, mungkin kan emang ga pernah ditulis sejarah aja gitu kalo Fir'aun lagi kena pilek xD. Hahaha..

Okay, enough with my illness. Anggap saja gw lagi belajar ikhlas nih. Moga-moga cepet sembuh. Aamiin...

Kita kuliah Unpad, Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi, jurusan Jurnalistik angkatan 2002. Yaa kira 11-12 tahun lah kita berteman. Wii lama juga yah, Gie? Dulu kamar kita sebelahan di kosan, walhasil yaaa gitu deh, rusuh tiap hari. Sebenernya gw sama Nisa, sama Epoy, sama Pety sih yang suka rusuh. Yogie mah tipenya kalem.

Jam 4 pagi masuk mesjid, sholat Subuh trus tepar sampe pagi. Kebangun jam 7-an dan nunggu DAMRI DU-Jatinangor dengan muka bantal. Hahaha..

Terus kita nanya, "Somaynya berapaan?"

Terus dijawab sama Bapaknya, "10 ribu." (Seinget gw, koko-nya bilang bgitu karena gw kaget mahal banget. Takut salah :p)
Terus gw nyeletuk, "Seporsi?"
Dijawab lagi, "Bukan, satunya 10 ribu."

Aiiih... langsung melilit perut mahasiswa kita dengernya. Kalo gasalah harganya cuma sekitar 8 ribuan udah dapet beberapa biji. Alhamdulillaah... perut anget deh *lebay*.

Oke, cukup tentang nostalgianya. I'm so proud of you Yogie! Heuheu..

Ini foto-foto yang sempat diambil hari Jumat,

Yogie sama Ibu.

Gw n Bebe sama Yogie, dipotoin Babenya Yogie.
Sayangnya Nisa lagi sakit, jadi she couldn't make it :(. Gw dateng telat karena jalanan macet banget. Pas nyampe Kokas, Yogie-nya udah makan, dan tanpa Nisa kok kayaknya aneh ditraktir sendiri. Hahaha.. jadinya gajadi deh traktirannya. Tapi teuteup yah harus foto-foto mah.

Muka cakep.

Muka manyun. Tapi gw doang keknya yang manyun xP.

Muka Jelek.

Muka... ini muka apa yah? Hahaha.. muka geli kayaknya xD
Oke deh, sampe ketemu lagi yah. Mudah-mudahan bisa kumpul sama Nisa juga nanti. Have a nice day everyone! ;)

Save The Date! Indonesia Fashion Week 2014

Original Square photo VerifikasiBlogger_zpsbf72875e.png

Hi, Guys!

A few weeks ago, Yogie, a reporter and a best friend of mine, remind me that Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2014 is coming! Yeay!

We both did come to IFW 2013 last year, and I posted about it right here. Many things to see at the event. They've got fashion shows, seminars, book launching, and so on. Go to www.indonesiafashionweek.com to see the complete schedule and details.

Coming to this event, is not just about shopping or admiring the fashion and stuffs. Of course girls love shopping. But I always think that when we see fashion week, we see our culture, we see our own trends and what's going on, we see how fashion people see us. You know, we see ourselves. It's good to have our own local taste identity and be proud of it. And it's good to see how these fashion people show us how in their own way.

The trends of online shopping these 3 to 5 years alone shows us that people can create trends in local fashion and now we buy more products created by Small Medium Enterprise (SME) through online shops. Check on Indonesian fashion blogs and instagrams, and you will see Indonesia people now proudly wear local products.

With the social media we have now, we can show the world our positivity as a nation. Let's support our local fashion industry, girls!

Save the date! Indonesia Fashion Week 2014 will be held on 20-23 February 2014 at Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan.

Playing with Play Doh

Assalaamualaikum,
Hi Guys! Today I want to share an activity my daughter I do together: Playing with Play-Doh!

It was started when I download Sophia The First songs on YouTube and I found some tutorials to make doll clothes by using play doh. The tutorials were soooo cute! My daughter loves them and so one night we went to the mall and bought several cans of Play Doh.

My daughter loves playing dress up with her doll, and she like it even more when she found out she can make the dress out of play doh by herself! She loves rolling and flatten the doh, and wrap them on her dolls. She loves making them shoes too, and with my help, of course xD.

Here are some photos of our work,

Wow, I lovee those boots! ;)
It was my daughter idea to make this doll shoes and she was the one who choose the color too! ;)

Look at those dolls. I made bandana for the doll on the right, and Bebe made the bandana for the left one.
All of the flowers were made by her. And the flowers are those things that you may see as buttons :D.
